On Monday February 9th, 2015 The University Of Winnipeg Indigenous Advisory Circle held an open forum at Convocation Hall at the University of Winnipeg to bring together community to better understand the the call for, role of and limitations on an inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women #MMIWG2S.

WE ARE SEEKING A PERMANENT HOME FOR THESE AUDIO RECORDINGS

We acknowledge the importance of these perspectives & stories. We acknowledge the lives of our stolen sisters. We acknowledge all Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls & Two Spirited Peoples.

A permanent home for this audio & its content is being searched out now is being sought within our community. A number of leading & trusted organizations have been approached and offered the files to have for their use.

Conversations have been started amongst groups and decisions/meetings on where to host these files could take weeks to months.

As advised, we've posted the audio here to act as a bridge due to an overwhelming response & need for the information and because we were asked to do so - we've posted the audio collection here for all to access while a permanent home can be found for this vital information.

TO THE PUBLIC & COMMUNITY

The audio from the event is being posted with permission from the University of Winnipeg, the presenters, panelists & community members that shared their perspectives & voices during this event.

We have not made any edits to the audio. We've split the audio into tracks in an effort to make each speakers insights & perspective easier to share online & in community.

We think posting this audio, with permission, adds great value to the overall conversation in regards to #MMIWG2S & is an important step in best practice sharing, information & capacity building and to give the public, community & media a resource to use to help facilitate these conversations.
